Socorro Islands on the Solmar V - December 2001The Solmar V departs from Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for a 237 mile journey to the Socorro Islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The claim to fame and you will see below are the giant Manta's that come to enjoy the divers. They regularly play in the bubbles and come to get petted by the divers. There are also tons of sharks, eels and other unique marine life. I scanned all the images below full frame. Sometimes you'll have to hunt for the little critters in the image as they hide well. When I decide which ones to print and frame they will of course be properly cropped. This trip I used a Sea & Sea underwater camera housing for my Nikon F5 and two Ikelite Sub-Strobes. The difference in quality and ease of use is astounding vs. using a Nikonos camera. Please send me your feedback! Thanks! - Brad
